It all began with an idea
In our freshman year of high school we realized that financial education needed to change.
Hey there! We’re Luke and Nick Meggers, two 17-year-old twin brothers who founded Financial Futures in 2022. When we started looking around, we noticed something surprising: schools weren’t really teaching kids the basics about money. Things like budgeting, saving, smart spending, and basic life skills weren't being taught. We thought that needed to change.
So we set out to make financial literacy fun and exciting.
We created Dollars and Decisions, a super fun board game that helps students learn about real-life money choices. In 2022 we created The Money Maze, an interactive curriculum that turns financial education into something kids actually enjoy. In 2025 we launched a second curriculum called Career Compass that focuses on essential life skills like landing a job, paying taxes, and preparing for college. We’ve also been working on building new tools like an interactive app, to keep expanding how students can learn about money.
Since starting Financial Futures, we’ve been lucky to partner with amazing organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, Youth Centers of Orange, Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano, You Run This Town Foundation, and other youth programs to bring financial education to more students. With the help of grants and community support over the past three years, our programs have now reached close to 1,000 students through workshops, camps, and classroom programs.
We’re on a mission to help kids level up their money skills and feel confident about their financial future - and we’re just getting started.
